The UN Human Rights Council recently adopted a resolution on children's rights in relation to information technology.
The resolution recognises the importance of information technology in children's lives as a tool for learning, socialising and for freedom of expression, whilst also outlining the risks that it can bring, such as cyberbullying, abuse and exploitation. It highlights the steps that countries should take to ensure full, equal, inclusive and safe access to information technologies whilst safeguarding the protection of children online and offline.
