xGlasgow Councillor’s International Human Rights Day blog
Date: 6th January 2016
Category:
General measures of implementation
As part of Unicef's blog series featuring partner local authorities to mark 2015's anniversary of the UNCRC on International Human Rights Day (10th December), Glasgow Councillor Stephen Curran released a blog on why local leaders must lead the way in advancing children's rights.
Glasgow is one of Unicef UK's Child Rights Partners and earlier this year the council made child rights training mandatory for all their elected members. In the guest blog for Unicef's Child Rights Partners series, Councillor Stephen Curran explains how this came about and why a strategic and political commitment to children's rights is essential to make rights a reality for children.
