The Centre for Research on Families and Relationships at Edinburgh University is undertaking a study for the UK Information Commissioner's Office on the feasibility of embedding information rights into the school curriculum.

Using a human rights framework, the research will focus on children having the knowledge and skills to exercise their right to make a freedom of information request, their right to access their personal files as well as exercising their right to privacy when using the internet and social media.

The research will examine the curriculum and educational policy across the UK. We look forward to hearing children and young people's opinions through reference groups in primary and secondary schools.

If organisations have particular information or a contribution to make from their practice, we would be pleased to hear from you. Please email Carole Ewart.
