xChildren's rights must be central to the Bill of Rights Commission's work
Date: 7th July 2011
Category:
General measures of implementation
The Rights of the Child UK coalition, all the major UK children's charities, and the children's rights alliances for England, Scotland and Wales have written to the Independent Commission on a Bill of Rights to urge them to champion the rights of children in their deliberations and seize the opportunity to embed and mainstream children's rights within the UK's constitutional arrangements.
The coalition has also urged the Commission to stand firm on the fundamental role of the Human Rights Act in ensuring access to justice for children, young people and adults under UK domestic law.
