  • #CovidUnder19 Global Survey results out now

  • Girls in Scotland 2020 survey findings

  • Steps to mitigate UK ‘No Recourse to Public Funds’ policy

    Under UK Government policy, many migrants have ‘No Recourse to Public Funds’ (NRPF). This restricts their access to welfare, housing, and financial support. To mitigate its effects, Scottish Government has announced a further £278,784 is being made available to six organisations supporting people subject to NRPF in Edinburgh and Glasgow.

  • Scottish Youth Parliament launches new manifesto

    ‘From Scotland’s Young People’ is a five-year document detailing what changes Scottish Youth Parliament plans to make during the period 2021-26.   • Adoption of the resolution on the rights of the child to a healthy environment

    The Human Rights Council has adopted its annual resolution on the rights of the child, with a focus on realising these rights through a healthy environment. This resolution urges States to recognise this right to a healthy environment through legislation and meaningful participation of children in decision-making processes.

  • COVID-19, Social Care and Human Rights: Impact Monitoring Report

    In summer 2020, Scottish Human Rights Commission carried out monitoring research into how COVID-19 has been managed and the impact of the pandemic on human rights including children’s rights. The research focused on the context of care at home and support in the community. The report calls for a commitment to return care and support to pre-pandemic levels as a minimum.

  • COVID-19 Book Club explores impact of pandemic on young people

    Six young people aged 16-25 and RCPCH staff formed the COVID-19 Book Club. The club has been meeting for an hour each week to identify key themes from studies looking at young people’s experiences during the pandemic. In turn, these key themes intend to be used to inform NHS recovery and winter planning.

  • Young people invited to join Lockdown Lowdown focus group
