Call for nominations to Together’s Board of Trustees

Together is holding its next AGM on 17th September 2020 and is seeking to appoint four new trustees to join the Board.
Together seeks trustees who have the knowledge and understanding to maintain an oversight of its activities at a strategic level, and who can contribute well-informed views, constructive challenge and a commitment to best practice. A trustee’s ability to contribute in this way will often, but not always, draw on professional and/or practitioner experience at a senior level. All trustees are expected to have an expressed commitment to children’s human rights in line with Together’s vision and strategic plan.
Together’s trustees are expected to demonstrate many of the personal competencies included in Together Trustee Role Description and have the capacity to apply these to the direction of the organisation.
Together encourages applicants to have an informal discussion with the Director or other trustees in advance of applying. Together, in line with its Equal Opportunities and Diversity Policy, aims to encourage and recruit trustees to ensure diversity, equality and inclusiveness on the Board in line with other organisational commitments, and will treat all trustees fairly and equally regardless of their sex, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin, religion, age, disability or union membership status.

If you would like to apply to stand for election, you must complete a Trustee Nomination Form – endorsed by a Together member - and send it with an Expression of Interest (up to 150 words) and a biography (up to 300 words) to Louise by the 3rd September.
Membership of the Board is by-election through Together's voting members, who have paid the full annual fee for 2019-20. Trusteeship lasts for a period of three years, after which it can be renewed for one further term, to a total of six years. Trustees are unpaid. Reasonable expenses incurred in the pursuit of Board business will be covered.
