Why do we need a new human rights law in Scotland?

Date: 30th August 2021
Time: 16:00 - 17:00
Location: Online

Explore what incorporation of four United Nations treaties directly into Scots law would mean and why it should matter to everyone who works in civil society in Scotland. There will be opportunities to ask questions about how the law could impact your own economic, social and cultural rights, your work and an opportunity to express your thoughts.

You will be joined by the following expert speakers:

  • Professor Alan Miller, Professor of Practice at the University of Strathclyde and former Independent Co-Chair of National Task Force for Human Rights Leadership
  • Naomi McAuliffe, Programme Director for Amnesty International in Scotland
  • Juliet Harris, Director of Together (Scotland's Alliance for Children's Rights)
