Child Disability Payment will be launched nationally this autumn, which will replace Disability Living Allowance for Children, which is currently delivered by the Department for Work and Pensions. In preparation for this change, Social Security Scotland’s National Engagement Team is hosting a series of online Child Disability Payment events to provide information on the end to end journey for clients applying for Child Disability Payment.

This change to Child Disability Payment follows on from a successful pilot of in Dundee, Perth & Kinross and the Western Isles. It has been designed to provide extra money to help with the costs of caring for a child with a disability or ill-health condition.

Some of the events will also cover specific aspects of Child Disability Payment such as Special Rules for Terminal Illness and Supporting Information for Public and Third sector employees.

This event is aimed at stakeholders and partners such as clinicians,  hospice support, palliative care  supporting families with children who are living with a life limiting condition who may be supporting families to apply for Child Disability Payment or completing the new Benefits Assessment Under Special Rules in Scotland (BASRiS) form 

Supporting Information – Public Sector webinar 

This event is for stakeholders within the Public Sector, NHS and Local Authorities, who may be requested to provide information to support a client’s claim for Child Disability Payment 

It will provide detail and information on the processes involved when Supporting Information is requested by Social Security Scotland as part of a client’s evidence gather for their disability benefit application.

This event is for stakeholders within the Third Sector, who may be requested to provide information to support a client’s claim for Child Disability Payment
